The award-winning broadcaster who informed Californians for 40 years is now telling his stories in book form.
His first title is Mornings With Madden: My Radio Life With an American Legend. It’s the inside story of his long on-air relationship with John Madden. The book offers a fresh look at the wisdom and humor of Coach Madden, using thousands of recordings of his daily chats with Stan on KCBS Radio in San Francisco.
Stan is a member of the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame and the San Francisco State University Hall of Fame. During his distinguished career in broadcast journalism, he received numerous industry honors including a share of the prestigious Peabody Award for his coverage of the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake.
